2. Local Area Network Configuration

You need to enter the IP address you want assigned to the LAN port of the server, which will allow your server to be accessed over the Local Area network (LAN). This must be a private IPv4 IP address.

  • If there is an existing LAN, you need to specify an unused IP address in the subnet of your existing LAN.
  • If you are creating a new LAN, enter an IP address in your new LAN subnet.

You also need to enable or disable DHCP and specify the DHCP IP range.

You can get further information on the different Network Integration options in the article How to Integrate a server into a network.

Step 1: Identify the server you want to configure
From within Commissioning Console, find the server which you are configuring and click on the Customer Name.

Step 2: Select Local Area network
Click on the Local Area Network tab

Step 3: Enter in the LAN IP address

The LAN IP address is the IP address assigned to the LAN port of the server.

You need to enter an IP address for the LAN port of the server, which will allow your server to be accessed over the Local Area Network (LAN). This must be a private IPv4 IP address.

  • If there is an existing LAN, you need to specify an unused IP address in the subnet of your existing LAN.
  • If you are creating a new LAN, enter an IP address in your new LAN subnet.

The LAN IP address MUST be on a different subnet to the WAN IP address, which you specify later during installation.

Step 4: Enter in the Subnet Mask

Enter the Subnet mask for the LAN IP address.

Step 5: Configure DHCP
Choose whether you want to Enable or Disable DHCP. If you Enable DHCP, your server will act as a DHCP server and give out IP addresses to client devices on the LAN.

If you do enable DHCP on the server, you then need to enter the DHCP Range start and end addresses. This will define the range of IP addresses given out by DHCP.

Step 6: Save
When complete, click Save.
